Submit School year 2010-2011 STAC Forms to SED Soon in Order to Ensure the Payment of Aid in the Current School Year
This is a reminder to submit STAC forms to SED for students with disabilities educated in the 2010-11 school year. Placements in 2010-2011 generate aid in 2011- 2012. Failure to complete the entire STAC process for students served in the 2010-11 school year by 6/30/2012 will result in the payment of 2011-12 Public High Cost and Private Excess Cost Aid as a Prior Year Adjustment, thus delaying the payment of such aid for a number of years.
Directions for using the STAC On-line system can be found here.
2010-11 Ten-Month Public Placements
For high cost public school and BOCES placements, students should be entered on-line in STAC on or before 5/1/2012. SED will subsequently send paper Verification Listings-High Cost STAC3 Amendment Reports (HCSAR) to school districts. These verification lists must be completed and returned to the SED STAC Office no later than 6/30/2012, along with a copy of the final reconciled 2010-11 BOCES bill for services to students with disabilities. A separate paper form must also be submitted to the STAC Office when the full 10-month school year cost of special educations services, provided to any student in a public school or BOCES placement, exceeds $94,999. See link that follows for the required form: High Cost Student Data Report
2010-11 Ten-Month Private Placements
Students in private special education placements should be entered in the STAC On-Line system and also verified on-line no later than 6/30/2012. To determine whether your school district has private placement students already entered in STAC but not verified, please access the Gold Star Status Report for 2010-11 private school placements.
You may also learn if there are any private school students still to be verified for the 2010-11 school year by accessing the DQAPP screen for your district in the STAC on-line system.
