Spreading Overpayment Deductions Over Three Years - September 26, 2016

Lead Testing in School Facilities Update - September 19, 2016

The Governor signed legislation earlier last week that now requires school districts to test for lead in drinking water within school facilities. Schools serving kindergarten through grade five must perform the required lead testing by September 30th, 2016 and schools serving grades six through 12 must do so by October 31st, 2016. Excess Cost Aid Calculator for Students with Disabilities - August 18, 2016

Available for download is our updated Excess Cost Aid Calculator for Students with Disabilities tool that will assist you in calculating both Public and Private Excess Cost Aid on a per student basis. Tuition costs and student FTEs are needed to utilize the calculator.

School Data Required for Property Tax Relief Programs Follow Up - August 16, 2016

We have received a number of calls regarding the Department of Tax and Finance request for tax rate data. Once tax rates have been determined and school tax bills are prepared, school districts must provide Tax and Finance the data requested. More detailed information on the tax rate submission process can be found on the Department of Tax and Finance's memo here. According to the August 2nd Tax and Finance webinar, tax rate information for Nassau and Suffolk counties will be provided by the counties. READ MORE >>

 

School Data Required for Property Tax Relief Programs - August 15, 2016

To ensure timely delivery of Property Tax Relief rebate checks and STAR credits, school districts must submit necessary tax rate information to the Department of Tax and Finance no later than seven days after board adoption of tax rates. READ MORE >>
