State Aid Claim Forms Are Available! - July 28, 2015

The 2015-16 state aid claim forms and the ST-3 are available on the State Aid Management System (SAMS). A link to SAMS and additional information can be found on SED’s state aid unit website: http://stateaid.nysed.gov/.

Final Review of 2014 Enrollment and FRPL Data - July 17, 2015

In August the Office of Information Reporting Services (IRS) will finalize the SIRS and BEDS online files containing the 2014 enrollment and Free/Reduced Price Lunch counts (FRPL). This data directly impacts State Aid calculations for school districts. READ MORE >>

 

Aid Attributable Worksheet and Nonresident Billing - July 16, 2015

When districts use the “Calculation of Public Excess Cost Aid Attributable to Parentally-Placed Nonresident and Charter School Students” (“Aid Attributable”) worksheet that is updated annually and posted on SED’s website for nonresident student billing, entries A and B of Part I are found on the 2007-08 Public Excess Cost Aid (“PUB”) report. REMINDER: Tax Freeze Certification Due July 21 - July 9, 2015

Chapter 59 of the Laws of 2014 establishes a property tax freeze for school districts (and other municipalities) beginning with the 2014-15 school year. According to the law, STAR eligible taxpayers who reside within a "freeze-compliant" taxing jurisdiction will receive a rebate check in the Fall of 2014 and 2015. For a school district to be considered freeze-compliant, the district’s tax levy must remain within the property tax levy limit. READ MORE >>

 

2015-16 Special Education Itinerant Services (SEIS) STAC Data Collection - July 9, 2015

The STAC Unit has posted a guidance memo detailing changes to Section 4410 of Education Law regarding the reimbursement for Special Education Itinerant Services (SEIS) beginning with the 2015-16 school year and the collection of data that will be submitted to the Education Department. The guidance is intended to assist counties with the collection of such data. View the memo.
