Important Reminder: Schedule F6 Due September 1, 2017 - August 14, 2017

School districts must complete and submit by 9/1/17 SAMS Schedule F6 to report information on all bus borrowings (BANS and/or Bonds) made between 7/1/16 and 6/30/17. SED requires this information to establish a 2017-18 statewide average interest rate to be used to amortize and aid the cost of school bus purchases. READ MORE >>

 

SA-132 and SA-135 Due September 1, 2017 - August 11, 2017

If your district issued debt for school construction between July 1, 2016 and June 30, 2017 you must submit either an SA-132 (bonds or capital notes) or an SA-135 (BANS) to SED by September 1st. READ MORE >>

State Aid Claim Forms are available! - August 4, 2017

School Tax Data Required for STAR Credit - August 3, 2017

To ensure timely delivery of STAR credits, school districts must submit necessary tax rate information to the Department of Tax and Finance as soon as possible. READ MORE >>

 

Superintendent Certification of Tax Cap Compliance Due July 21, 2017 - July 20, 2017

Chapter 20 of the Laws of 2015 established a property tax relief credit for school districts beginning with the 2016-17 school year through 2019-20. According to the law, STAR eligible taxpayers who reside within a "tax cap compliant" school district will receive a rebate check in the Fall of 2017. For a school district to be considered tax cap compliant, the district’s tax levy must remain within the property tax levy limit. READ MORE >>

 

Final Review of 2016 Enrollment and FRPL Data - July 20, 2017

In August the Office of Information Reporting Services (IRS) will finalize the SIRS and BEDS online files containing the 2016 enrollment and Free/Reduced Price Lunch counts (FRPL). This data directly impacts State Aid calculations for school districts. READ MORE >>

The NEW Maintenance of Effort (MOE) Reporting Requirement for Section 611 and Section 619 grants is due by Friday, June 16th and should be submitted to SED via email using the following email address: idea@nysed.gov.
